Ice Spice Reveals Official Release Date for Debut Album ‘Y2K’

Ice Spice, the new wave Bronx rap star, has set the music world abuzz with the announcement of her debut album, “Y2K”. The highly-anticipated record is scheduled to drop on July 26.

The album’s New York-inspired artwork features Ice Spice against a subway station backdrop. She poses next to a subway sign spelling out “I-C-E,” while an overflowing trash can bears the neon-painted title, “Y2K.” A discarded IceSpiceCard, her playful take on a MetroCard, rests nearby. Last month, limited-edition Ice Spice MetroCards were distributed across New York City, adding to the excitement surrounding the album release.\

Ice Spice’s music draws from her upbringing in the Bronx. Her latest single, “Gimme a Light,” samples Sean Paul’s early 2000s hit “Gimme the Light.” She infuses her tracks with the upbeat energy she observed from retailers using popular music to attract customers in bustling shopping areas. Her Coachella performance in April showcased other hits like “Munch (Feelin’ U),” “Princess Diana,” and “No Clarity” alongside collaborations with PinkPantheress.

Stay tuned for the arrival of “Y2K”—a debut album that promises to make waves in the hip-hop scene.
