Jordan Peele‘s in-house film company, Monkeypaw Production, is offering fans an exclusive chance to look inside the creative mind of Jordan Peele with the debut of his ‘Us: Complete Annotated Screenplay’ book.
Published on the 5-year anniversary of the film’s release, Us is a companion paperback to the critically acclaimed film, featuring director Jordan Peele’s screenplay accompanied by over 150 stills, deleted scenes, and in-depth annotations. These include texts by hannah baer, Theaster Gates, Jamieson Webster, Jared Sexton, Mary Ping, Shana Redmond, and Leila Taylor, alongside excerpts from Naomi Klein, Colson Whitehead, Maggie Nelson, Carol J. Clover, Michael Harrington, and Paul Laurence Dunbar.
Us has been designed to be easy to hold, read, and reference. The format continues the legacy of 1960s paperbacks documenting the era’s most significant avant-garde films―such as Akira Kurosawa’s “Rashomon” and Jean-Luc Godard’s “Masculin Féminin.”
These small books, which also contained supporting materials like interviews and press coverage, were released to bring these important films to broad audiences. The publication aims to add a deeper reading and understanding of the film, while also sparking conversations around the film’s cultural impact and legacy.
For those interested, the ‘Us: Complete Annotated Screenplay’ book is available now via the Monkeypaw Production’s official website.
