Joe Freshgoods Set to Reintroduce the New Balance 1000 Next Month

Chicago-based designer Joe Freshgoods is once again making waves in the sneaker world. This time, he’s collaborating with New Balance to revive an obscure archival model: the New Balance 1000.

Originally released in 1999, this silhouette has remained relatively under the radar, but with Joe Freshgoods’ touch, it’s set to capture attention once more. The New Balance 1000 boasts a mixed-material upper, combining a mesh base with wavy overlays. These overlays shimmer with a metallic sheen, creating a unique visual effect. Joe Freshgoods will reintroduce the 1000 in two distinct colorways Pink Mink, a delightful blend of pink hues, complemented by tan and white accents, adorned with a gum outsole adds a touch of vintage flair. As for the second, Black Ice, a striking combination of black and copper, with the same gum outsole for a classic touch.

Both versions feature a translucent “N” logo, “JFG” branding on the right toe, and a circle variant on the heel. The graphic insole completes the package.

This collaboration marks the eighth time Joe Freshgoods and New Balance have joined forces. Their previous projects include the cult classic film-inspired 990v4 three-pack. Now, with the Y2K trend in full swing, the New Balance 1000 is poised for success.

The exact release date and pricing for the Joe Freshgoods New Balance 1000 “Pink Mink” and “Black Ice” have not been announced yet. However, sneakerheads can expect them to drop sometime in April 2024. Keep an eye on Joe Freshgoods’ website, his Every Now and Then storefront, and select retailers for updates.
