Manny Pacquiao Announces Rematch Against Floyd Mayweather

Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather 2 is officially set to kick off.

Filipino boxer and president of RIZIN Fighting League, Nobuyiki Sakakibara, spoke at the New Year event at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan. Pacquiao first apologized to viewers for not participating in any fights in 2023 after signing a contract with RIZIN, and later confirmed that a “big fight” with Mayweather will take place in Japan on year 2024. Thank you,” he said, without giving further details.

According to Bloody Elbow, the second match of their 2015 match was an exhibition match and not a professional match. Both boxers retired professionally and have returned to the ring for exhibition bouts since then.

Their 2015 fight was the highest paid-per-view fight of all time with nearly 4.6 million sales, with Mayweather winning by unanimous decision at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
