Over the years, both institutions have teamed up on special projects that’ve brought communities together. For their latest linkup, the longtime partners have reworked the New Balance 2002R through the lens of Virginia. Teased on Instagram, the silhouette seemingly takes its color palette from the iconic “Virginia Is For Lovers” slogan. A predominantly white build is seemingly offset by black and red contrast.

Sole units appear to maintain their standard build, but uppers may have experimental attachments near the top of the tongue. DTLR’s next NB 2002R will surely tell a compelling narrative in a fresh way once it’s fully revealed, as did its “Masquerade” pair from last year.
